Republicans try to bring back "Saddam had WMDs in 2002" meme
The Neo-Con New York Sun is trying to promote this. They're telling us of newly-discovered tapes that "prove" that Saddam had WMDs right before we started war. Congressman Peter Hoekstra is trying to lead a Congressional investigation into this. He claims that he is listening to the testimony of Saddam flying WMDs to Syria carefully.

This sounds like the best time for Bush to revive this, how convenient I might ask to anyone paying attention.

1. Sure he did...
And because those tapes are "super secret", we'll never get a chance to hear them, let alone have them independently verified.

2. But... but... but...
THEY were the ones who said they got BAD intelligence!

And didn't someone on Powell's staff just come out today and say his involvement in that whole deal was the lowest point in his career? That it was all a hoax?

Give them all enough rope and they will hang themselves every time!

3. laugh in their faces.
it's more than obvious now that the liar-in-chief lied about everything when it came to wmds.
they were talking about knowing exact locations of this that and the other thing, all of which proved to be complete fabrications.

their president lied to get us into war. they need to GET OVER IT.

4. Even Old, Discredited Lies, If They Are Repeated Often Enough
will be believed by the 1/3 of the population that will believe anything they are told on television.

5. A response I have used that really pisses them off
Iraq had WMD before Clinton was President but Iraq did not have WMD when President Clinton left office. And he got head on the side. Pisses the fuck out of the lemmings. Just bring up Operations Southern and Northern Watch and the maintenace of the no-fly zone during the Clinton Presidency. A real Commander in Chief.

Yes, that works well.
I also add, "North Korea was actively working on 'nukular' bombs to blow you up in 2002. How come your pretzeldent doesn't protect you?" :D

6. HOAX
"A hoax on the American people, the international community, and the United Nations Security Council."

That is how Secretary of State General Colin Powell’s February 2003 Iraq WMD speech to the UN was described last Friday (Feb. 3) on PBS by one who ought to know, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, chief of staff to Secretary Powell.

7. So Saddam sent out of the country the one thing he suppposedly had
which could have repelled or deterred American invasion?
Makes sense, I suppose, about as much sense as any of the other bullshit they believe.

8. Yea,
and Saddam Hussein and Bill Clinton personally piloted all 4 planes on 9/11. They survived because the magical Clenis teleported them out of the planes just before impact.
