A Memo to Freepers, Republican Pundits and Other Dense Persons:

Today's memorial was about Coretta Scott King, not George W. Bush. If Jimmy Carter's discussion of the persecution endured by the King family at the hands of the government was offensive to you because of similarity to activities pursued by the current administration, the burden of reflection falls on you. If his reference to the inescapable connection between race and the Katrina tragedy offended you, again you should ask yourself why you were offended.

You have a choice: You can try in vain to transfer your own, private shame to the messenger, or you can recognize that when issues like those addressed today cause you embarrassment because of who your current leaders are, that there are some things that need to change.

It has often been said that your president lives in a bubble, out of touch with the real world, criticism and the lives of those less fortunate than him. Perhaps today's events will give him pause for reflection. I hope they do. And for your sake as well as that of the country, I hope you do the same.

And I have a word to the wise for you: Stop watching pundits - or listening to the blowhards. These people are sad and you shouldn't pay them.

I mean! Who is Coretta Scott King, if not the wife of THE most prominent Civil Rights Warrior our nation has ever known?

How dare anyone honor the woman - and her many achievements beside and beyond her husband's life - without discussing WHY she and her husband became the voices and the heroes for each American who didn't have a voice or any courage left?

Why would any informed, intelligent, educated person want to candy-coat their importance to the Struggle? Why would they want to avoid discussing that struggle?

Do they want to hide from the past? Are they cowards afraid of the truth?

I really don't get it. I don't watch the M$M simply because I am sick to death of asking the same questions.
