1. Sorry, pal. I wouldn't trust the Iranian mullahs with a dull butter knife

4. Well, I'm pretty sure they have sharp butcher knives
but really, do you believe they'd light off a nuke knowing what would come afterward? The Soviets had (and still do have) thousands and they never did it to us or anybody else...the USA is the only country that actually did drop an atomic bomb on anyone, remember?

7. They came awful close in the Cuban missle crisis.
Personally, I'd prefer not to repeat that with the Iranians, who would never back down because they don't view death in the same way we do.

2. I see your point, but don't agree.
MAD worked because, despite their doubts and differences, the USA and USSR acheived an understanding that neither was willing to die to make their point.

Not sure that trust exists today. I'm CERTAIN our current administration isn't acting in a way that leads other nations to trust us.

5. Oh, absolutely...our current (mis)administration is a disaster, BUT
if Chimp was the prez of Iran do you even begin to imagine he would attempt to nuke the US? I just don't think they're dumb enough to ever try something that stupid. I don't think I'm a Pollyanna, I just refuse to believe any country is capable of committing national suicide. There are a BUNCH of things I hope I'm wrong about but this isn't one of them...

6. The whole country doesn't have to
want to committ national suicide, just a few crazy bastards who have the means and want their 72 virgins.

8. Yeah, it's a 2nd Amendment thing
They're always saying the solution to America's crime problems is for everybody to have a gun, so it stands to reason the solution to the world's nuclear problems is for everybody to have a nuke. I say you run with that Karl. Either the entire country will come to their collective senses, or we'll be in another international stand-off and will stop acting like bullying idiots.
