Pretty white girl missing alert! - media rant

Why is it whenever an attractive young white girl goes missing, it becomes a national story. But if it's some black girl who is missing, or some hispanic girl, or some unattractive overweight girl, those stories don't get any airtime? Don't get me wrong, I'm not faulting the friends and families of the young attractive white girls - they're taking advantage of what's available to them. I just wish that the media would show just as much concern regardless of the race, age, or attractiveness of the person missing.
