Denounce the Wiretap Hearings as a SHAM --- ACTION >>>

http://www.millionphonemarch.com/wiretaps.php

The president has admitted that he has broken the law. An "old" law from 1978 he called it. What a quaint concept, the president obeying the law.

Nixon once infamously said, "When the president does it that means that it is not illegal." For George Bush apparently it can't be unconstitutional.
And now we find they have been abusing their power to spy on Quaker peace groups and vegans. There isn't a respected legal authority out there buying any of the president's fuzzy justifications based on some outlandish expansion of executive powers in opposition to the Constitution and the will of the people as expressed through their Congress. It is time that there be some oversight in the form of a special prosecutor to determine the extent to which the president should be held accountable.

7. Here's the really difficult question for Republicans...
What, exactly, CAN'T Bush do in his war on terror ? What limitations has Congress placed ?

The Sgt. Schultz defense DA Gonzalez gave yesterday, 'I see nothing, I know nothing, I hear nothing' does nothing to enlighten us nor meet Congress's demand for truthful testimony...

R's can't blame Dems/Progressives for the eviceration of the Constitution; that will stay on their hands from now until the cows come home. It's all on THEIR WATCH.

9. I asked that!
I asked a group of Republicans where they would draw the line when it comes to the U.S. government fighting terror. I got a bunch of nervous coughs.

One woman gave the inevitable "well if you don't have anything to hide" comment.

I walked over to her purse sitting beside her chair, picked it up and walked back to the podium with it. She started to sputter but I cut her off and said,

"I'm not going to go through your purse. BUT...I do want you to imagine something for a moment. You come in to this library to check out a book on Iran and Islam for your son's geography project. As you leave a guard stops you and demands to see your purse. A librarian has notified him via intercom that a targeted individual is about to leave the library. But you've done nothing wrong. So you hand it to him. He dumps the contents out on the table by the door and rifles through it.

Do you feel safer from terrorism or do you feel violated?

More nervous coughs.

Now imagine you're at a cocktail party. You tell a joke about Bush, a priest and a rabbi. Someone at the party overhears and decides you aren't very supportive of the president. So he calls the police who authorize a background check to see which organizations you belong to.

Do you feel safer from terrorism or do you feel betrayed and violated?

Of course I was accused of being alarmist and "that would never happen here." Hello folks! It already is.

11. The FL Quaker group and GA vegetarians are already 'enemies of state'
by such self-appointed neocon 'guardians' using the color of authority. Much as Bush, using color of authority he does not have, with Congress delegating what it cannot constitutionally give-- war powers, especially in a war without end.

REX 84 is the next step: suspension of the Constitution.

8. It was a sham - from the get go - Dems should've HALTED PROCEEDINGS till
Gonzales was sworn in.

No way could the media have spun that act against them. It would have highlighted how corrupt the Republicans are about the hearings.
