McCain's attack on Obama IS partisan!!!
McCain's letter to Obama is an effort to make the Republican scandal issue a non-partisan one. He knows that the Republicans will be hurt badly if they can't frame the Abramoff issue as being both a Republican and a Democrat problem.

Barack is doing the right thing by supporting Reid, a fellow Democrat. McCain's attempt at attacking Obama only makes him look more partisan.

They are running scared folks.

------------------------------------------------------------------

'"As I explained in a recent letter to Senator Reid, and have publicly said many times, the American people do not see this as just a Republican problem or just a Democratic problem."'...

...'But in his rebuttal, Obama said he made it clear during last week's meeting that the Democratic caucus would insist that any reform plan go through the normal committee process -- and that he believes Reid's bill "should be the basis for a bipartisan solution."'

1. How in the hell can McCain accuse Obama of being disingenuous?
We've all seen the pictures of him hugging shrub.

2. disingenous = republican
false anger, fake arguments, willful misrepresentation of what Dems are saying, projection of their worst qualities onto dems, etcetera etcetera

And McCain is certainly a republican

3. I thought they would have already started
demeaning/swiftboating Obama. I'm sure they are watching him closely and will do whatever they can to make sure he doesn't go any higher than senator. Obama has his work cut out.

4. I lost all respect for McCain in 2000
for not fighting back when his family was personally attacked by the Bushies. Also, he allowed them to get away with "swiftboating" his military career and calling him unstable from his years as a POW.

I remember someone asking him why he wasn't angry, and he replied "it's only politics".

I think this letter to Obama is really going to hurt McCain's credibility further, especially for 2008.

5. Just because you insist it isn't a GOP thang doesn't make it so.
"...As I explained in a recent letter to Senator Reid, and have publicly said many times, the American people do not see this as just a Republican problem or just a Democratic problem."

Repeating an inaccuracy doesn't make it more true.

When your explanations matter regarding how the American people feel or think about any issue, I'll let you know. In the meantime, please remove the boulder from your eye before you try to remove the speck from Sen. Obama's!

7. Thats the first thing I thought as well
McCain is being a bully and going after a junior senator from the opposing party but he won't stand up to fellow republicans or this administration.
