Well you can thank Planned Parenthood for taking a stand for those women.
I just got this email--sounds like a really good time for a donation to PP.

Dear xxxxx,

Last year anti-choice Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline's
office went on a fishing expedition to gain access to the
records of approximately 90 women who were treated at two Kansas
clinics that provide abortion services.

Planned Parenthood went to court to protect these women, and
today, the Kansas Supreme Court unanimously reaffirmed the
importance of protecting the confidentiality of women's medical
records. We are relieved that the court recognized the privacy
rights of women.

We cannot allow anti-choice politicians like Phill Kline to
trample on the public's rights and on medical privacy in order
to further their own ideological ends. Protecting the privacy of
women and men is at the core of our mission, and with your
support, Planned Parenthood will continue to stand up for
privacy, just as we have for nearly 90 years.

Sincerely,

Karen Pearl
Interim President
Planned Parenthood Federation of America
On behalf of the Planned Parenthood community

1. I think at the moment
we have a pretty good Supreme Court here. I am waiting for a few more rulings but all in all I think we may have a good one that will help us stop some of the nonsense.

Thank you Planned Parenthood of America!

2. Great news! Yes, DO support the work of Planned Parenthood
They have supported our rights and safeguarded health issues for a very long time.

I recall a bus ride with other Planned Parenthood supporters to a big march in Phoenix. There were a lot of 20 and 30 somethings there, along with some of us 40-ish women there with our daughters. There was one couple who were quite old sitting in front of me.

As a young college coed passed on her way to the water closet, she stopped to chat them up. Said how inspiring it was that they would come out to a march at their 'advanced age'. The old man chuckled. His sweet wife patted the young girl's hand and said 'My dear, we have been doing this for 50 years. Glad you decided to join us.'

It put a lot of things into perspective for my own daughter who was watching and listening.

Support Planned Parenthood. Send a check when you can. Make sure they have volunteers if they need them to defend privacy of clients if their clinics get harassed by anti-choice/anti-women's health protesters.

Let them know you appreciate their efforts. Let your community know too. Make sure Planned Parenthood clinics are there for all our daughters and sons. Protect them as they protect us.
