Well you can thank Planned Parenthood for taking a stand for those women. I just got this email--sounds like a really good time for a donation to PP.
Dear xxxxx,
Last year anti-choice Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline's office went on a fishing expedition to gain access to the records of approximately 90 women who were treated at two Kansas clinics that provide abortion services.
Planned Parenthood went to court to protect these women, and today, the Kansas Supreme Court unanimously reaffirmed the importance of protecting the confidentiality of women's medical records. We are relieved that the court recognized the privacy rights of women.
We cannot allow anti-choice politicians like Phill Kline to trample on the public's rights and on medical privacy in order to further their own ideological ends. Protecting the privacy of women and men is at the core of our mission, and with your support, Planned Parenthood will continue to stand up for privacy, just as we have for nearly 90 years.
Sincerely,
Karen Pearl Interim President Planned Parenthood Federation of America On behalf of the Planned Parenthood community
