1. What I have...
I answered, but it's all spent already, for next month's bills, student loans, and health care payments. Paycheck to paycheck. The only "savings" I have (and it's SMALL, but I'm glad it's there) is in a couple of mutual funds my parents gave me as a Christmas gift.

8. can you believe it, Hon, my landlady (who is a real piece of work) just took...
it upon herself to open the mailboxes and put a sign up, "Mail will not be delivered until further notice. Sorry for the inconvenience." :wtf:

something about the property owner lowering the boxes whatever...he's not even in town till Mon/Tues :wtf: :wtf: eh anyway whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger right; rents paid, other stuff where it needs to be but i'm waiting on checks from clients sheesh what's wrong with that chick

hearing you too on the 'assets stay put' & already spent stuff too :hi:

You'd think she'd at least let you guys know so you could arrange to pick up your mail, huh?

I hope my post didn't seem like complaining. At least (at this point) my bills CAN still be paid, if just barely. It's just exhausting, the whole paycheck to paycheck thing. I know you understand. :hi:

22. Might wanna check with the post master in your area and find out WTF's going on
Mail boxes don't meet some sort of legal standard? I would think the landlady doesn't have a say in mail delivery.

Had an apartment manger team (philander husband/drug addict wife) who thought they got to have keys to tenants' mail boxes (official USPS lock boxes on grounds). I moved from one apt to another and the box for the new one needed a new lock, which I asked our carrier about and which he replaced the very next day. The managers informed me THEIR KEY to my mailbox no longer worked and THEY HAD TO HAVE a key to the new box lock! We went 'round and 'round until the Post Master got involved and informed them about federal laws and such.

27. Landlords/no one has the right to interfere with US mail delivery.
Edited on Sat Jan-20-07 10:29 PM by Divernan
Check with your local post office first thing Monday morning. Tell them you need a copy of the relevant regulation/law; report your landlord by address. I wouldn't trust the landlord to get the mailboxes put up Monday, Tuesday or whenever. Ask the Post Office to check into the situation immediately.

Your landlady does not own the mailboxes.

Give her a happy surprise and phone the manager of your local PO Branch. And requwst to remain anonymous.

No one has the right or legal option of screwing with your US Mail delivery.

35. hey Tom...
:hi: i don't think he was the postmaster on a Sat, but the guy i talked to at the hub said that she was way off the map on this one, and that i would be able to file a formal complaint against her...it's a home bizz, and i'm waiting on some mid-month checks, but left the property owner a message that alluded to just that

she actually has a low grade feud with me as to a range of issues, and the owner knows that as well having received complaints about his agent already from many sources, many angles on & off the lot

she is elderly...goddess grant me the grace to survive myself at the proper time

good to see you

47. Don't file a complaint if you can avoid it.
That could exascerbate your ongoing "range of issues".

Wait for Monday and get the P O Branch involved.

Let them do it.

Speak to the Branch Manager, explain your position, and try to get him/her to take action.

If that doesn't work, ask for the phone number of the District (or what/whoever else is the next level above your local Branch.

That will do it, right there.

I am so pissed about them doing this to you that I wish I was there so I could do all of it myself.

23. I would have a lot more if the city in which I live would stop screwing me
First it was a sewer that I had to connect to that ended up costing 13K
Then there was the tore up drive way so the could resurface the street, which they left to me to fix.
Now they are forcing us to put in a sidewalk at the cost of $5/yard of concrete on a 150 ft linage on top of taking some of our property as an additional easement to what was there when we bought the house.

They are trying to break me literally

Our good news is that Hubby is eating again, after completely loosing his appetite, and about 10 lbs. The doc took him off of the blood thinners, and soon the clinic will be able to do more complete dialysis. Then he should start feeling better. Right now he is very fragile. (It is a long and ongoing medical saga.)

69. We know that a great number of people are hurting.
We read a lot on DU from our friends about being jobless, health cost issues, living very close to the edge.

How we fall as a group? Hard to really say from a poll with small numbers, I would think.

I wonder what results you'd get if you asked if people feel they are better/worse off under *bushco?

70. sure, i hear what you're saying...
some samples are woefully slight while considered scientifically viable http://www.surveysystem.com/sscalc.htm  it's a fly by night one, but play with that portal, the number for a membership i.e. population of 100,000 is surprising

:wow:

samples as large as 35,000 that reach into more corners of a vast population of say 300,000,000 do yield more detail however, and you have a greater opportunity for LOQ & module development  it's tough and getting tougher all over of that there is no doubt in my mind :(

15G of that though is still remaining from the cash-out refi. So about 9 Grand prior to the cash-out.

If 401k is included, then tack on another 27 grand.

and to go to the heart of your question, not per se funds that have, or are to be considered in a state of flux by means of mechanism; mechanisms to include i.e. 'refi payout', temporary/stationary stock payout en route to some other instrument, or for that matter 'refi payouts' en route to improvements to be made, etc...just monies that sit there for operating purposes general or specific

67. 'twill be gone for property taxes by end of January
GRRRRR.....we don't have a state income tax, so they sock it to us in other ways -- license fees, sales tax, property taxes, anything else they can think of.

71. I would fit in the "other" category had I not been
bailing family and friends out of this "vibrant economy" thing I keep hearing about.
I've lent out about $7,000. over the last four months. Lost jobs, break-in damage...
the fun just never stops.
