Something I don't understand about our candidates
It seems that most of the Dems interested in running for Pres voted for the Iraq fiasco. They were stupid to do so, and no excuses for their vote will be forthcoming from me.

HOWEVER... why can't they just say that they were lied to by this administration? Why can't they say that they made the mistake of believing our President? Most Americans could relate to that.

Instead we have this twisted positoning that just seems phony and does not inspire confidence in anyone.

2. This bothers me, too.
I think that in the forthcoming election, if both sides were just honest about the greatest issue of our times, that the election would actually mean something. That American citizens would have a clear choice, and the winner a clear mandate to end the war. That's assuming we win, which I believe must happen if the issues are kept clear for the sheeple.

3. agreed
Maybe I am just cynical...but I think a lot of them wanted to vote "no" but also wanted to run for president. they thought it would be quick and easy like the first gulf war and they didn't want to be on the wrong side.

Anyone "stupid" enough to vote for it is unqualified for public office.
But, I don't think that "stupidity" was the reason they voted for it. Pure, unadulterated, pandering, opportunism, was the reason.

Which also disqualifies them for public office.

6. How can they be 'soft on terror' when they were all LIED to?
That's a stupid excuse. They all just need to call the administration what they are...LIARS and the people will sort out the rest. To be considered soft on terror because the psycho-in-chief LIED TO YOU, makes no sense. The American people have finally seen the light. The Dems have no excuse NOT to tell the truth. The voters spoke on November 7. They know what we want now and it's NOT to stay in Iraq. That's their open door right there.

5. Bush says that Congress had the same information that he had. If they were lied to, then they reall
really need to point out exactly, specifically how.

7. I believe thay have pretty much all said just that. They voted
for the war based on the administrations false information, and now that they know the truth, they would vote differently. Except for Obama, I think he has been against the war since day one. Of course, the real reason they voted for the war was political. They didn't want to be labeled as soft on terra.
