Many dems have written that if Hillary gets the nomination, they would vote either gop or stay home rather than vote for her.
Would you vote, depending on the candidate, for a republican over Hillary?

I'd vote for a tin can over Hillary, my self...

HILLARY IS NOT BILL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would LOVE to see the 22nd Amendment scrapped so that Bikll could have a thir term.

The thought of Hillary as the niminee makes me ill. Of course, if she is nominated, I'll just take my barf bag into the voting booth as I pull her lever rather than see somebody like McCain or Romney be helped.

For with such a nominee comes a democratic team and democratic influence in the executive branch. I haven't voted for a republican in 30 years and I doubt I ever will again.

Hillary is not my primary candidate however I will not cast aspersions at any dem candidate and will wholeheartedly support the party nominee.

39. Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!
Unlike those that agree with Nader, circa 2000, it does matter who gets in. As individuals, the candidates usually aren't that far apart, well off, premier schools, career politicians, well connected and funded. The real test is the kind o administration they'll install and who will they listen to (or will they listen at all).

Anyone that thinks any Repub will have a progressive administration is posting on the wrong board. Any Dem will have inherent strengths and weaknesses, but will have a vastly more progressive cabinet and administration to work with. The only way to return from the brink is to make it clear that the Republics have lost their way and to put their "base" back in the attic (or "basement") where the crackpot crazies belong instead of making policy for our nation.

Wow. I really don't understand the impulse of some DUers to cut off the country's nose to spite Hillary and the DLC. Anyone who answers this with something about not voting or writing someone in, both of which are essentially the same as voting for the republican...well, they have a lot of explaining to do and may well deserve that granite sammich too.

Presidential primaries are tough and you don't always get the final candidate that you want...but if you want to call yourself a Democrat you suck it up and vote for the goddamn Democratic nominee for President.

37. HELL NO! I'll never vote for a repuke.
You would vote for a GOP candidate?

The same party who calls all Liberals terrorists? The same party that started and maintained a war for corporate profit? The same GOP who claims to "Love Jesus" yet steals our tax dollars, accepts bribes, sells their votes in Congress at a level never seen in history?

The same GOP that thinks giving raises to the rank and file causes inflation but giving huge raises to corrupt executives and government officials doesn't? The same GOP that has run up a loan deficit so huge, so large, that your great, great grand children will be paying interest on it.

The same GOP that caused the Great Depression? The same GOP that has strangled the liberal voice in America?

The same GOP that went on fund raisers while thousands of people drowned in a hurricane?

You have got to be crazy to think to vote for such corrupt and immoral scoundrels. Hillary will have to run naked through D.C., declare abortions mandatory and eat babies before I'll ever vote for a repukes.

44. NO!
What is going on with this Hillary hate here???

It sickens me to think the Democratic Party I
have known all my life is filled with so many
mean spirited and vicious attacks on a woman
who is exercising her right to be heard!

45. If it's her or a republican, I'll vote for her simply because of the "D" by her name.
I won't really support her, though, unless she really proves to me I'm wrong about her.

48. Never. And it is my opinion that whomever the Dems nominate will win
Edited on Sat Jan-20-07 11:02 AM by OKNancy
No matter who the Republicans nominate.*
They are doomed.

* I DO worry a little about Hagel but the Republicans are too stupid to nominate him.

57. I would put my thumb over her name and cast my vote for the (D) next to it.
I don't like her. And it's very unlikely that
I ever will.

But if I have to cast a vote for her to get
a Democratic administration in Washington,
then that's what I'll do.

59. Doesn't Hillary have to get the nomination first?
She's going to have to work her ass off to get a mahority of the Democratic base to her side... and unless she can pull something out of her hat and prove to the rest of us that she's worthy of the nomination, this point will be moot. All the horses aren't to the starting line yet... and of those that are in the gates, I haven't seen one that I would vote for.

60. If Hillary is the nominee, a vote against her is a vote
to veto our Democratic Congress!

In 2008 we will have an excellent chance for a Democratic Congress and Presidency. People like you don't seem to mind ruining that for what are simply stupid reasons. Because she supported the war? Many did and now are having second thoughts. Doesn't mean she would block congress from stopping it! Or not stop it herself. Realize that women often act tougher than the want to so they don't get labeled soft.
