While certain DU'ers are protesting Chavez...
This guy remains in the White House doing God knows what and how illegal it may be.

Just thought some people needed a reminder.

7. Chavez has a brain, which means even if he were as evil as
the kool-aid drinkers of American propaganda would like to believe, he wouldn't do anything really stupid or irrational. I mean even Stalin, an evil dictator if there ever was one, was smart enough not to engage in wars he couldn't win.

9. It is much easier to focus on someone elses...
glaring defects, than our own...even if we have to make them up. I can't blame anyone for doing exactly what they've been taught since they came out of the womb. Reality is harsher than I ever imagined.

14. Venezuelans voted. Chavez won. Bush has been fucking with him

ever since.

The obligation to stand with democratically elected leaders holds primacy, despite Bush's belief that he can selectively choose the elected officials he likes and then try to subvert or bomb the ones he doesn't.

If the Bush administration don't like the heat it needs to get out of the kitchen.

15. I don't know a damned thing about the guy
but it kind of creeps me out when American people gravitate towards a charismatic foreign leader.

16. If you can't get it at home..
... you look elsewhere :)

Seriously, Chavez is a non-issue to me. He was elected, he is no threat to us, folks should leave him alone.

17. If cheney, rummy and bush are vilifying Chavez
Then you know he has to be a stand up guy. They only complain about the honest people who can't be arm twisted into cooperating with the neo-freaks.

18. it's because Venezuela is looking to wean themselves off of US oil dollars
that's the reason for the attacks in recent days by the Bush cabal, Rumsfeld, Negroponte, Bush and others. Venezuela is looking to double their oil exports to China by the end of the year. Chavez has also indicated a desire to further align his oil trade with Iran, aggravating what the WH sees as Iran's undermining of our meddling by siding up with regional trading partners like Russia, China, and Pakistan.
