When the going got tough, America chickened out.

"When the going gets tough, the tough get going".

One thing you can't get away with is calling an American a chicken, we pride ourselves as being the land of the free and the home of the brave, as baseball fans well know. We are the greatest nation after all, we stood proudly against Hitler and Stalin, we fought many mighty battles and sacrificed many brave men and women, too many for anyone to call us cowards.

But that all changed on nine eleven. This is the post nine eleven world.

So what did we do as a nation when the going got tough? The absolute wrong thing. We gave in to panic, and heroes DON'T panic, heroes act, and then they get medals.

99% of Americans should be deeply ashamed. They SHOULD be, but they're too busy or distracted by luxury and fatty foods. Maniacs have hijacked our government right under our noses and they've gotten us into a major clusterfuck, and we've taken the cowardly route, we've done basically NOTHING about it.

Is this assessment too harsh? Am I too impatient? Should I just shut up and wait, just a wee bit longer on the outside chance that it will all be just fine? Should I be ashamed of myself for not personally offering a nifty slogan solution?

History will compare the U.S. at the beginning of the 21st century to 1930's Germany, and we will forever be 'the good Americans'.

As a nation, all together, we should face our greatest fears, and face the real source of our fears, HEAD ON. You know what you're afraid of, and you know you must conquer your fears or forever be crippled by them.

3. That sounds like a lot of work. I think i'd rather work within the system
Which is also a lot of work, but has the advantage of actually being likely to work.
