As the US dollar declines by design, and the corporate controlled central banks continue to switch over everything they own to the Euro, the new North American Union currency is coming.

That being said, whose picture do we put on the Amero? I can't think of anybody on a continental level that would fit.

Canada's economy is doing well relative to that of the United States. We still enjoy surpluses (even with Stephen Harper as PM), so why on earth would we want to hitch our wagon to your falling star?

The European case is much different from the North American one. In the European Community, there are several countries with approximately the same heft in terms of population and influence (UK, France, Germany, Italy), whereas in North America you have one sparsely populated country (Canada); one populous but practically third-world country (Mexico); a bunch of little countries (Central America); and a vastly overpopulated and very influential country (the US). Once our economies were intertwiined in the way suggested, who do you think would call all, and I do mean ALL the shots?

Sorry, but will Canada be dictated to by Americans? Maybe over our dead bodies.

Harper and Bush are both globalists and very tight. Give Harper some time, he'll screw up Canada as Bush has screwed up the USA, all for the profits and sake of big businesses. I like the idea of Canada as an ally, but disagree totally with the idea of combining our countries, and especially with the idea of combining our problems with the widespread corruption in Mexico.

The netherlands get to put their queen on the euro, just as the other countries get to decide whom to put on the front of the currency. We will probably go that route because it will maintain a facade of sovereignty. As long as we put dead presidents on our currency it will be easier to swallow that we are seperate from the other countries. During most transactions most Americans will never see the canadian or mexican printed amero.
Watch this come about as people complain about the uniform size of the dollar's different demoninations being unfair to blind people. The amero will slide in to take the place of the politically uncorrect greenbacks that we have today.
