Bush says opposition won’t shift his Iraq policy
WASHINGTON - President Bush, facing opposition from both parties over his plan to send more troops to Iraq, said he has the authority to act no matter Congress wants.

“I fully understand they could try to stop me from doing it. But I’ve made my decision. And we’re going forward,” Bush told CBS’ “60 Minutes” in an interview to air Sunday night.

Vice President Dick Cheney asserted that lawmakers’ criticism will not influence Bush’s plans and he dismissed any effort to “run a war by committee.”

2. I am sure Bush would invade Russia in mid-winter also..
Nice to know you are right about every thing. And double good if you can use some one's life and not your own or your family. The things this man will say just takes my breath away.

3. The decider's done already decided: hopefully the Pentagon's grim assessment of
anticipated US casualties resulting from this "surge" are vastly overstated, but if on target the added future cost of medical care, rehabilitation, and disability benefits for the wounded alone should well top an extra trillion dollars, an amount W and Darth seem gladly willing to pay in treasury, deaths, lost limbs, and fractured brains. And tens of millions support this.
