I need help. How to play live stream wvx on Mac?
I want to watch John Edwards at Riverside Church this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. and I've tried pre-loading the stream and my computer churns and churns and I get... nothing. Is it the stream or is it my computer?

Here is the Riverside Church link:
http://www.theriversidechurchny.org/news/article.php?id...

The direct link to the stream is:
http://easylink.playstream.com/winlive/theriversidechur...

I think I have virtually every player I know of for a Mac installed - RealPlayer, DivX, VLC, QuickTime, Windows Media Player...

So what do I need to install now? :eyes:

1. windows media opens when I click on the link...
Then it says "connecting" and nothing happens. Perhaps because the feed has not started??

I wanted to go today but am unable to get there so I figured I'd watch the feed. Are you getting the same thing?

4. That is what I thought would happen - it would open and give
me a message that indicated that the stream isn't live yet. I am not getting that - it isn't even opening a player for me. Maybe I will try opening the player and then feeding in the URL directly.

Thanks for your reply -> :hi:

8. My Windows Media Player now says "ready" -
After I pasted "mms://64.95.53.21/theriversidechurch" into the player instead of trying to open it from the link on the Riverside website.

I hope Edwards goes deep in this speech - he needs to go deeper than the current rhetoric - King's speech at the same place really forced people to think differently about Vietnam and our role in it.

6. I downloaded it, just in case, but I hope I don't need it because
after you download it for "free" and open it, it says you need to pay $24.95 in order to download the program. The "free" demo will only "record" for 15 minutes (at a time?).

I don't like sites where it appears as if the program is free and then you have to pay to get the version that works. I had a similar experience with DivX Converter -- it converts various formats to DivX and does so with the words "DivX" printed across the center of the screen.

7. In Windows
you right click and "save target as" http://easylink.playstream.com/winlive/theriversidechur...

the video link to your desktop, you then open the link file with notepad to view the direct links.

:)
