Secret Santa Millionaire Philanthropist Larry Stewart Dead at 58
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Larry Stewart, a millionaire who became known as Secret Santa for his habit of roaming the streets each December and anonymously handing money to people, died Friday. He was 58.

Stewart died from complications from esophageal cancer, said Jackson County Sheriff Tom Phillips, a longtime friend.

Stewart, who spent 26 years giving a total $1.3 million, gained international attention in November when he revealed himself as Secret Santa. He was diagnosed in April with cancer, and said he wanted to use his celebrity to inspire other people to take random kindness seriously.

"That's what we're here for," Stewart said in a November interview, "to help other people out."

4. Wealth's best application IS
indeed done through anonymous, generous donations and giving. That kind of giving is the real deal. I'm not so fond, quite honestly, of taxing the job creators to give to welfare queens/kings. I know I'll get flamed for making that kind of statement around here.... but... this man CHOSE to give away his money. The government and its taxing policies (in wealth confiscation) didn't make that kind of choice for him.

6. Right, that's a better way to help poor people.
Because there's so many rich people running around in the streets handing out money to those less fortunate than them. Give me a break.

What a beautiful person.

Why are some people like this, and others greedy and hateful?

Mr Stewart made this world a better place, his story is inspiring and beautiful - like him and the twinkle in his eye.
