3. Either that, or it's contempt for democracy...?
It's something, but it's not right, and people are sick of it.

11. No, they are 'plussing up' - it's a 'plus-up'
Edited on Fri Jan-12-07 11:49 AM by muriel_volestrangler
Seriously, that's the latest jargon they're using:

The Pentagon wants to plus up Marine Corps end strength by 22,000 leathernecks within five years, Defense Secretary Robert Gates has announced.

http://www.marinetimes.com/news/2007/01/MCendstrength070111/

GENERAL PACE: Being stretched is part of the equation, but it does not impact the recommendation about how many troops are needed. We have sufficient capacity inside the U.S. Armed Forces to be able to do this plus-up. But we should not -- we must be mindful of the fact that our active forces have been rotating in and out at about one year in, one year out. And our Guard and Reserve forces have been going in at about one year and coming out for about five. The total force mix of the United States the Secretary talked about is available to solve this problem in Iraq and also to handle any other problems. So it very much is on our mind as far as how we resource this plus-up.

Doubleplusgood, I say.

I could think of another 4 letter word to proceed 'up' that would fit quite well there, though.

16. How long is she going to take the heat for *
She is the only non-military person going in front of the senate and getting drilled for the * debacle in Iraq.

Of course, she deserves it for her complicity in this tragedy.

Anyone with a brain knew she wouldn't be able to stand up to Cheney and Rumsfeld and tell * he was a warmongering son of a bitch. Her ineptitude has caused thousands of lives to be lost.

How she lives with herself is a mystery.

21. she stole my word - augmentation
from my letter to my Congressman (Joe Courtney) and to my sane Senator (Chris Dodd)
>> <snip>
Last summer, during Operation Together Forward II, ithe military augmented their troop presence in Baghdad by redeploying soldiers from other places in Iraq to Baghdad. <snip>

I had used augment because I had "increase" like a zillion times in the email, so I looked up synonyms for increase.
