a democracy, a free society, not gonna' happen. We're gonna' wake up one day and realize that we have a real catastrophe on our hands, all of the makings of one GWB. Lots of property destruction and lives being taken every day.

1. You're probably right, but
for the sake of the Iraqis, I hope you're wrong.

7. Hell's bells, I've been hoping I was wrong since March of 2003.
Unfortunately, I haven't been wrong yet. I said it was a mistake, I said it was immoral to attack a country that did nothing to us, I said SH wasn't a threat, I said this would be a huge fucking MESS, I said thousands of lives would be lost, I said it would destabilize Iraq and launch it into a civil war, I said the fundamentalist Islamic groups would be able to take over, I said they weren't committing enough troops to do something on the scale they wanted to do it, I said leaving the ammo dumps unguarded was stupid as shit, I said leaving a power and security vaccuum would just INVITE terrorists into Iraq, I said the troops would be sitting ducks over there.

Shit, I WANT to be wrong on this thing, only because it would save lives! But dammit, I haven't been wrong yet, so this must be a major fuck-up, just like I thought it would be.

4. I said this in another thread...
but I will restate it here too. You're never going to see a western democracy in the Middle East. At least not in the near future.

5. In no way, shape or form
It's totally delusional to think otherwise.

6. I already did realize that.
About the catastrophe. Anyone who hasn't just has their head up their ass.
