Who Has Heard Rumors That Bush Is Still a Drunk? ---pix--->>>

I've heard from friends who cater Park Avenue dinner parties that Bush's drinking is a topic of conversation among the media elite. I've also heard third-hand that his drinking is an open secret in Washington. Has anyone heard anything more substantial? I think it's high time the cards were on the table. There's an unstable, irresponsible, irrational man in the presidency. If he's impaired by drugs or alcohol, we need to know.

You tell me, is Bush still a drunk, or what? And are you just guessing, or do you have information to back it up? If there were such information, now's the time, my friends.

7. If the media would just release the news
that bush still drank and proved it, his support would fall even more. There are crazies here that argue that they support him no matter what because he is a "christain" and "reformed alcoholic". How is that for a reason to support a mad man.

Have you ever known a person known to have a substance abuse problem, and he says he's clean but it's totally obvious that he's lying? That's Bush.

12. He's a smoker, too. So WHY doesn't the media report this?
If word got out that Bush chain smokes and binge drinks, his remaining support would plummet.

At some point, the members of the press have to ask themselves, is it really worth it? Does this idiot drunk need his open secrets kept, or do the American people need somebody halfway sane and competent?

I sincerely hope the reporters who know about his drinking for a fact come forward, and tell everyone.

23. If you see the video of him drunk at the wedding in 1992...
He chastises both bride and groom for not smoking or drinking. "Nice people. Boring people." Something like that.

The smoking thing I posted about a few months ago - a White House aide, who is friends with this guitar player I know, informed him that both Georgie and Laura are heavy smokers, immediately lighting up when the cameras are off. I mentioned that I knew about Laura but was surprised by George puffing cigs, and the aide insisted that both of them chain-smoked, not just Laura.

However, after thinking about it, it's not too surprising, particularly when you see the video (and his teeth).

At any rate, the video proves, at least, that he lied about quitting the bottle. Since it's implied he thinks non-smokers are "boring", and his teeth these days are yellowed and nasty, that, for me, connects the dots.

51. I contacted Huffington Post:
emailed it in as a "scoop", so someone would read it:

OK- this is less of a tip and more of a plea: if 'insiders' in Washington are buzzing about Bush's drinking, aren't they responsible to shine a light on our Commander-in-Chief's impairment?

He is ordering aircraft carriers to provoke Iran, and Syria... his behavior is in contradiction to all the advice and consultation he has received... he is clearly listening to the beat of his own inner drum. Well, if that inner drum is soaked in alcohol, and he's driving the bus we Americans are strapped in, right off a cliff... when does media silence on this matter become immoral, even criminal?

You guys who KNOW what is happening have an obligation to report on this. This is WAY more consequential than an act of oral sex with an intern.... the RW media had no problem trumpeting that. So, why should the Progressive media protect this alcoholic president any longer?

Please, Arianna, speak for us.

The subject line was "Time to Out Bush: His alcoholism is an "open secret" in Washington".

I truly believe the public is ready to hear this, and not dismiss it as spewing from the 'radical' leftwing of our party. I think they are confused and frightened about his illogical and dangerous behavior and this information will make sense to them.

55. It's drugs.
This isn't to say that Bush didn't fall of the wagon a time or two, but I'd bet on drugs--the pharma kind. They're so very prelevant in our society, especially in the upper classes. Many, many drunks are depressed; drinking is a symptom for them. When they're on their meds (assuming their meds are working), they tend not to abuse alcohol. But when they're not--look out.

Bush is being medicated.

67. Possiblly, He was out of sight for a week before Katrina hit.
The storm hit Monday morning. Bush resurfaced that day to eat cake with McCain, then attended a fundraiser in San Diego that night at the Hotel del Coronado. That's right, he was partying while New Orleans drowned. Tuesday he gave a speech on a Navy ship and infamously posed with the guitar. Tuesday night they returned to Crawford. Wednesday he was uncermoniously yanked from his vacation two days early. Quite a sacrifice.

She was on the telly night after night badgering Bill Clinton, with no more "evidence" about Lewinsky than there is about Bush's boozing.

So I expect her to step up to the plate on this one, with equal fervor. The consequences are infinitely more dangerous for us all, now.
