THE DRAFT IS IMMINENT! Military Lifts Active Duty Limitations on Reserve Forces
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070112/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_iraq_military

Until now, the Pentagon's policy on the Guard or Reserve was that members' cumulative time on active duty for the Iraq or Afghan wars could not exceed 24 months. That cumulative limit is now lifted; the remaining limit is on the length of any single mobilization, which may not exceed 24 consecutive months, Pace said.

In other words, a citizen-soldier could be mobilized for a 24-month stretch in Iraq or Afghanistan, then demobilized and allowed to return to civilian life, only to be mobilized a second time for as much as an additional 24 months. In practice, Pace said, the Pentagon intends to limit all future mobilizations to 12 months.

The military is stretched so thin, they are going to TWO YEAR TOURS with UNLIMITED REACTIVATION!

There is only one more step beyond this, and we all know what that is...

IT IS TIME TO IMPEACH THE ENTIRE ADMINISTRATION TO PUT A STOP TO THIS MADNESS!

8. A Democrat has already authored and sponsored a Draft
If things go bad in a hurry (and I believe they will with Bush dragging Iran and Syria into it), then we'll need a draft just to get our guys out of there...

11. If they restart the draft,
you can expect a DADT repeal.

This is exactly what we can expect: after being told for decades that we're unwelcome, they will now tell us that being gay is not a way out.

I will NOT serve in the event of a draft. I'll go to jail first. I'm not a slave, and I WON'T be treated like one.

5. We're going to need a Draft just to help get our guys out of there

That's how bad things are going to get.

If Bush goads Iran into a war, the soldiers in Iraq are going to be in a very bad place.

And a Democratic Rep has already authored and sponsored a Draft.

7. Cut the funding to all the private armies
like Blackwater and you won't need a draft.

9. I don't see a need for a draft to get the guys and gals out.
Helicopters and trucks should be sufficient.

10. we already have a draft. what do you think the ng and reserves
a enduring? not to mention the multiple call ups of the regular military.

the national guard and reserve are supposed to be available to protect the nation . . . not serve in foreign wars.

14. There won't be jail for draft evasion.
They're simply gonna handcuff you, throw you on the transport planes and ship you over there. You'll be dumped on the front with a rifle, especially in the event of war with Iran. Mark my words.

17. I would do anything within my ability to assist draft dodgers.
I would hide them in my home. Help smuggle them out of the country. Dye their hair and put 'em in a dress if I had to. Proud daughter of a Vietnam Vet here. But I'd do it. And not suffer one second of lost sleep over breaking the law.
