The president doesn't want to lose this war on HIS watch.
Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 05:25 AM by Philosoraptor
I've heard several pundits say this, pat puke cannon yesterday, and some columnists today, that w is basically saying to himself and everyone else, that he's not gonna have this war declared lost or failed 'on his watch'.

What a stupid, moronic statement in a long line of them, failure is not going to happen on his watch. What the fuck do you call the last six years if not utter failure?

He's already told us in plain, easy to understand terms that he's going to keep this madness and slaughter going till he's out of there, and the next president gets the ball in the giant football game of blow em' up and pocket the profits.

So in other words, the ape started a war, botched it totally, now wants it to just drag out over the next two years of his term, not winning, not losing, just bleeding and dying till the next unlucky schmuck gets elected.

Then, if the next schmuck is a Democrat, bush and the republiks will blame the whole miserable failure on him/her, like the cowards they are.

What a swell fucking guy he is.

2. bush does not have a war. bush had an invasion. he now has an occupation.
he is occupying a country. he is not having a war. there is a great difference between the two.

if he bastard has not let go of iraq by the time he is supposed to let go of the oval office, and if he lets go of the oval office which i seriously doubt that he will since i believe he will find some smoke and mirror lies to hold on to it, it should be the great privilege of whoever succeeds him to announce that he, the successor, whoever that may be, is ending the united states' occupation of iraq!

wow wee! what a relief it is: just like being able to have a bowel movement after constipation!

3. In That Case
in 2 years, if he hasn't managed to start WW III or the apocalypse, and we win the 2008 election, we can finally turn him over for War Crimes like he deserves without fear of a pardon.

4. Bingo we have a Winner....
Like with the economy, Bush is pushing all the hidden bad numbers off until the next President sees the real miss he walked into. :grr:

Jump in ill advisedly on someone else's risk and money, fail miserably at it, lose interest and then get bailed out.

8. Does anybody remember an interview he gave before
his selection?

I remember reading it and in it Bush said that during his collage years he never really paid attention to the great issue of those days - Vietnam.

Think maybe he should have?

As for his hanging on until the next Prez takes over and cleans up his mess....this is what comes from growing up and (I bet) never having to clean up his room ("that a maid's job").

10. Yup. 20,000 troops won't change the situation but it may buy him time.
Buy him time until he's out of there and the next poor schmuck has to deal with his mess--that's been his MO his entire life which has been a series of bad business decisions and worse personal choices.

Just too bad voters didn't know that about him in 2000.

12. So for 2 years we have to just sit back and watch.
I can't believe it will drag out that long, but who knows.

15. Unless Congress acts, of course. I hope they do but realistically....
I'd love to see Congress follow Kennedy's lead and force him to come to them with his case for continued war. This is not what was sold to us by Bush's henchmen.

Unfortunately this is unlikely. That would require--dare I say it--courage.
