...the invasion and occupation right up through to Saddam's hanging could be a great comedy/fiction novel and movie. I'd cast Tony Shalhoub to play the body double and Saddam -- of course he'll need a good costume/makeup job. The screenplay should read like Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove," and the plot, of course, would be the body double's hilarious adventures trying to avoid capture by a bunch of extremist Sunni fanatics determined to switch him with Saddam before the hanging.

I can see Saddam going to the gallows like a stoic and a martyr but that might be a pretty difficult act for a double to pull off. Besides, I've never been convinced that all the talk of Saddam having a double, or doubles, was anything more than disinformation.

as far as an underbite would be concerned, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just that his jaw was broken from the force of the hanging. I mean, I have no idea of the forces involved and where they'd be applied, but my point is just that you're looking at a photo of someone who's died after a very violent event, and his appearance is sure to be at least a little different from when he was alive and just standing around.
