Seen on HuffPo--we must be "slumming it"
Edited on Fri Jan-05-07 07:01 AM by RT_Fanatic
"Liberals don't seem to care much for "debate". Dare I say that they like dictatorships? They like rules similar to those imposed by the Taliban. Disagreement calls for stoning or beheading. In rare cases, lashes might be acceptable, but only for abject surrender and massive apologies preceded by a public renunciation of former beliefs.

HuffPo is a slightly higher class "DemocraticUnderground.com". The opinion pieces are better quality and written by more learned people even when they don't choose to use their education, knowledge, or logic. The Democratic Underground inhabitants would have found themselves right at home during the French Revolution.

1. Liberals don't like debate because
of the idiots that they "debate" (and I use the term loosely). Case in point, bush* thinks he can debate.

2. Indeed...
...and not only that, as far as the French Revolution is concerned, yes, the peasant revolt was violent, but what choice did they have, considering that the nobility had colluded for centuries to keep the peasantry starving. I'd love to see Chimpy as Marie Antoinette.

3. Hmmmm. So it's "liberals" using record number of signing statements
to act like a dictator (don't they call them "deciders" now?) and invade our email, our postal mail, our telephone conversations, our homes, without warrants, arrest us without due process, without habeus corpus, lie us to wars that enrich their cronies...

LIBERALS are doing that??!

Liberals want to force every American to worship only one religion in only one way?! Liberals want the death penalty, but change the form of state murder to "Taliban" stoning??!

Gee, and all along I thought it was bush and the republics.

6. "found themselves right at home during the French Revolution"
I'll take that as a compliment. It's better than being a fucking Monarchist (classic or corporate), anyway.

8. The Freepers have made themselves known.
"The Democratic Underground inhabitants would have found themselves right at home during the French Revolution." Yup, we would, we would be the ones who after starving and having bread riots, would revolt.

That means the Freepers would be going around saying, "Let them eat cake." while the poor starved. And in many ways they do.
