I fear. He has a small business in back fixing small motors on lawn mowers, etc. Well, he generally maintains a strange smile on his face and plays polka music from a local channel on his outdoor radio. I went out this afternoon to the garage and he had Limbaugh blaring. He's slamming doors all day and throwing stuff around.

I'm going to make a "Speaker Pelosi" sign and hang it in the window tomorrow along.

1. You have a local polka channel?
You must be in either Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, the UP, or Hamtramck.

18. I forget about those parts of Iowa.
I was born in Davenport-which is German as German can be (most people don't know that Bix Beiderbecke's real first name is "Bismarck"). But most recently I've lived in heavily Norwegian North Central Iowa, land of kringla and lutefisk. I'd forgotten that not everyone is an Iowegian!

25. Can I ask where in north central Iowa??
That's somewhat my neck of the woods. My hometown and surrounding towns are not extremely Norwegian, but the area I'm in now is very Norwegian (not the town I'm in, as much as the surrounding towns).

I'm in Allamakee county now, but grew up in Howard and Mitchell counties.

and the local Mexican people liked it so much that they made it their own right down to appropriating the accordion.

I'm in the NE corner of the state. Norwegian area here (which I'm not - married to a full-blooded MN Norwegian though!! )

Poor neighbor...I have a hard time feeling sorry for him though. I'm ready for that other 30% to start feeling some of the pain we've suffered the last several years (even though I don't think they realize how much better things will be for most of them with Dems in control.)

32. Roll out the Barrel
Or for the Germans in Skidmore's area: "Rosamunde, schenk mir dein Herz und dein Ja."
To the north of him in the Czech area: "Škoda lasky, kterou jsem vyplakala"
They don't translate to "roll out the barrel" but it's the same tune.

I used to live in Eau Claire and my hubby and I are from SE MN and NE IA and used to go through Arcadia all the time. Used to go on motorcycle rides all around that area and used to stop at the little drive-in there for ice cream or snacks. It's beautiful country there.:hi:

14. Have compassion; the poor thing is still in denial. And remember how WE felt.
I swear, though, folks like this just don't get it.

If he brings up that way-scary Nancy Pelosi, you can tell him Californians like her just fine, and San Franciscans don't think she's extreme. Well, that part might not carry any weight -- try putting it to him that (a) she's a very religous woman, and was a stay at home mom until her kids were all in school, and (b) the left-wing thinks she's way too moderate.

And ask him for me: Why does he think the Republicans in the House actually jeered her last year when she started a speech by stating that she is a mother and grandmother? Yeah, they did. What was with that? And why is it okay?

Hekate

You reminded me of my hardware store guy. He plays Limbaugh all the time and when I complained about it, he said he plays all different kinds of talk radio, not just right wing. Well, never once have I heard Air America and it's always Limbaugh when I go in there.

I would so love to go in there tomorrow wearing a Nancy Peolosi T-shirt.

40. Maybe you should take your hardware shopping elsewhere
After leaving a job where I had the same type of problem I never look back. I have since found success is a matter of searching it out and not trying to change something to make it seem like success. Leaving that job has showed me that peace of mind does wonders

They have as of late bulldozed that old work place and put in a large shopping center which has much better scenery :-)

This guy is very close, so in the interest of not putting a lot of pollution into the air when I drive out to get some arcane screw or bolt, I patronize this guy. But when I have time to plan, other independent hardware stores get my business.

Until I get a Prius, this is the evil I have to live with. :)

Then comes the denial stage, and then the acceptance and maybe even a learning phase. Of course, if he doesn't, the adults will be in charge and if he wants to, he can leave. I love turning that around on the Repukes.

46. Don't give that type too much credit, they are Stuck on Stupid
You have heard of the 30%ers? I live in a rural area because we don't deal well with the lawn edgers that city folks feel are a necessity. Anyway, large spaces between homes and yet we have those kind of thinkers out here. One we called the Bottom Master since we live in a flood area next to a river. Lordy he thought we were stopping up the natural drainage system and kept patroling our land to see what we were doing?? Finally my husband told him to get the hell off our land. The Bottom Master must of had someone at the City he could complain to as we would be inspected by the City for violations, drainage type. Sheesh, if we blocked the natural flow we would be flooded! We suspect he died 'cause there hasn't been any patroling for several years. Others in the area had to actually get physical with him. Sorta miss the excitement. They just seem to fade away without ever "getting it".

Have you noticed that the repubs seem to have this anger thing fine tuned. Only they know what is good for America and the neighborhood. Just lack class I guess, ha.
