Our country has spoken..and our nation wants to clean up our government from all the shame the republicans and this president have brought upon our great land!

She's going to make a fabulous leader. Looking forward to seeing her face all over the place for the next two years.

4. Funny, I know she is a grandmother, but I don't see it that way
It is historic because she is a female, but I see her as a sharp, smart, strategic politician--a genuine liberal who understands that compromise and cooperation will move the country forward. The grandmother thing just doesn't ring it for me.

Of course, I get irritated when they identify the females principally by the activity of their uterus (mother, grandmother--spitter-outer of children) because they don't do that to the males, even when they reproduce like goddamn rabbits.....

i never wanted to be a man..i just wanted for a lifetime..equality...

and with my eyes in the sunset of my life..i am seeing equality ...in our congress!!

today is another of those moments ..that is another new moment for women..and equality.

I am proud of this moment in History!!

10. You betcha, flyarm.
We must be of similar age. There were so many issues that we fought for to bring about some semblance of equality that are taken for granted. Some of them I've heard younger women talk about as incidental. It was a long fight to be respected in the workplace and in the home. I'll never forget the day my then teenaged daughter commented that someone was a "feminazi," a workd I'm still nto certain where she learned it even 20 years later. Well, I sat her 15 year old hiney down and gave her the quick version of Women's History 101. I came away from that day knowing that each one of us must teach our girls the history of why they can be what they want today. It became unfashionable to be a feminist. We need to make it centerstage again before women's rights are futher eroded. We can't demand rights for women abroad when we are being stripped of them here at an astonishing rate.

Nancy Boyda from KS 2nd Congressional district. She booted Jim Ryun out of his seat!

Let's hear it for the Grandmas!
