1. She and other peace activists chanted during a speech...
...by Rahm Emmanuel.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/04/us/politics/04scene.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

Down the hallway, Representative Rahm Emanuel of Illinois was starting to address another news media mob that had waited for him to emerge from a meeting of the House Democratic Caucus. Mr. Emanuel wished everyone a happy new year, apologized for being late and was promptly drowned out by a group of antiwar protesters, led by the ubiquitous Cindy Sheehan.

“De-escalate, investigate,” the group chanted. “Troops home now.”

Mr. Emanuel and Mr. Hoyer consulted briefly and decided to leave their podium and return later.

“Looks like we’re taking a little break,” Mr. Hoyer said as he and Mr. Emmanuel rushed away.

9. She protested the so-called "war"
It ruffled a lot of feathers here at DU because there are apparently a bunch of "proper channels" she should have gone though.

12. Bad Google
Well, you could have found out without starting another thread - I meant search.

I heard it on NPR this afternoon so it was news.

14. She didn't keep her mouth shut like a good woman does.
She's supposed to be at home, quietly grieving in the way that we tell her to, and not embarrassing the nobility.

Actually, it wasn't just Cindy, it was a group of about 70 people from what I read, but you'd never know that from reading the threads here. Cindy could be in a crowd of tens of thousands of people, and we'd still get folks wanting to know why she's making it all about her. :)

15. Hey, Bobblieo, thanks for this thread! I got home late from work and hadn't
heard about this, and was glad to be quickly updated.

Go, Cindy! STOP THE WAR NOW!

Isn't Rahm Emmanuel the one who worked against antiwar Dems getting elected this year?
