1. We had a thunderstorm yesterday in central Illinois.

First we get an ice storm in December (they usually happen in the spring, not winter), cutting our power for 6 days.

Then last night we had a full-blown thunderstorm.

Anyone who denies the weather is changing, is simply lying to themselves at this point.

7. A recent Kos diary cited the concept of 'the constants of nature'.

Nature has a range of normality but, the concept of nature being constant is really warped, IMHO, speaking as someone with an interest in nature. If we humans think nature is supposed to be a constant, unchanging entity, that's just us being collectively stupid.

Edit: Apologies if saying such a thing actually *offends* anyone. I hardly think nature *not* being a monolithic stone justifies doing damage to it.

3. It will be MUD SEASON here in New Mexico

and people who live outside the cities will be driving cars with adobe exteriors.

Mud here dries into a cement like substance, which is why houses are still being built from it.

I hate snow. I left Boston to escape snowstorms like this.
