Where the hell is maggot-boy?
Why isn't the fucking chimp at Ford's funeral?

I guess the little chicken-shit is hiding out somewhere.

2. Ford secretly bad-mouthed Chimpy to Bob Woodward. The
stories were to be released only after Ford was dead.

They probably have Chimpy under sedation down on the pig farm.

10. I can't recall when a sitting President MISSED the funeral of a former President,
Edited on Sat Dec-30-06 08:35 PM by Radio_Lady
especially when he's in the same party!

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this is a precedent.

13. The chimp's arrogance isn't a precedent, though
I bet he's mad about the revelation of Ford's thoughts on the invasion. Frankly, it's refreshing not to have to watch him act sincere.

19. I could find NO examples of it in modern times...
I could find NO example of a sitting president skipping the funeral of one of his predecessors. I think you'd have to back to 1933, when Calvin Coolidge died and FDR did not attend because there was NO state funeral. Per his request, Coolidge was given only a private, family funeral in Vermont.

In fact, the last example I could find of a FORMER president missing the funeral of another former president was back in 1963, when JFK was killed. At that time, former President Herbert Hoover was still alive at the age of 90. Nearly deaf blind and in fragile health, it was just not possible for Hoover to travel to Washington.

Persoanlly, I've been loving Ford's comments on the idiocy of the Bushes that have been released this week. Irregardless, it shows Chimpy as a classless bastard. For God's sake, Clinton went to the funeral of Tricky Dick. if there's one man who could arguably have been skipped, it was that loser.

He should be under the couch by now, with a pretzel in one hand, and the other arm around his best buddy, Barney.

17. today's service
isn't "the funeral". There are multiple ceremonies.

I read that Bush will attend the service at the National Cathedral on Tuesday.

I don't believe he attended Reagan's service in the Capital, either.

18. He probably wants to tie one on for New Year's eve without having to
face mortality--and the fact that probably no one will show up for his funeral. Or maybe we'll all show up dancing in the streets!

just who besides Cheney and Frist was there from Ford's party? Was Condi or Rumsfeld? What about Poppy and Babs? And did Tony Bliar attend for the Brits?
