America will sink MUCH lower before it collapses.
These are, or were the good old days in comparison to what's coming. Things immediately started going to hell when bush 'took' office, exactly as we all predicted.

We've only just begun to collapse as a nation and as a society. I don't envy our descendants.

2. Agreed.
The continued acceptance of world events by my peers (except DU) proves it to me.

Just add a draft along with an unpopular pResident and war, and civil war could very well could happen.

more rational manner.

7. We're too stubborn and lazy a species
for that to happen en masse without a world wide disaster or war.

8. Would it be any comfort
to know that this has been predicted by different seers and prophacies in stone (the Mayan calander)? This, the beginning of the 5th Day of the Ethics Cycle, indicates a rise of influence of nations to the East-and, God willing, a cleaning out of corruption here.

9. 2007 is going to be the worst year any of us in the US have ever seen.
Just a feeling, but it's a feeling based upon how I see things are going. And, sad to say, I see things continuing to get steadily worse in every aspect of our lives.

Time to clear the United States out of the way and make room for the new inventory of great nations.

It was great while it lasted, but even a nation as resilient and powerful as the US can't survive 30 years of the Republican Party.

10. Well, we haven't had 30 years of the Repuke party in control.
But aside from that, I have quite the opposite feeling. I see the corruption and dirty deeds of bushco being exposed. I think this country will rebound and heal, and that this is the year that will see the beginning of that arduous process.

11. Bush didn't invent it.
Things started going to hell a long time ago.

Bush is, however, hastening the process as much as he can.
