World laughing at US: Mahathir
For those already tired of Saddam:

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,2098...

THE US has become an international laughing stock because of Iraq, and Australia is suffering for its relationship with America, former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has said.

"America has lost," he said yesterday. "It used to be a world power. It is no longer a world power."

In an exclusive interview with The Weekend Australian in his office near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's longest-serving prime minister said: "The whole world is laughing at America, at the stupidity of the decisions they made and at the refusal to recognise the situation."

He described US President George W.Bush as being in "total self-denial".

sleep tight, the world is laughing at us...

4. Done
It is no longer a world power. Very true. Let's hope the damage is mitigated in the last death spasms. It was never much of a power to begin with. Just brutish and self-satisfied.

Not to mention the plastic.

8. not really news, just amusing
I was wandering through my usual news haunts and ran across this. Thought it was rather amusing (and ironic, too).

As to being from Mahatir, well, "from the mouths of babes" and others... not that we haven't been saying this all along. Note, however, that this is on an Ausie news site; the Ausie leadership have been fairly pro-Bush.

And... it has (almost) nothing to do with Saddam.
