If a Democrat was President during a time of war
And someone came up to you and said he didn't like the President and called him a disaster to the country...

Would you call that person a traitor?

1. There was lot of that going around in the '60s.
LBJ was the disaster. A lot of us said so. And, we were called traitors. Among a number of other things.

2. No.
I wouldn't agree with that person but I would still consider what he or she said-assuming that their rationale was cogent enough.

3. Been there, done that
I'm close to 50 years old next year and the first anti war protest I went to was in Middle School. I risked being expelled but I was making straight A's and my teachers wouldn't report a straight A student for expulsion. That is the truth.

5. Please... they were raking Clinton over the coals
while he was in Kosovo... Doing everything they could to keep his mind off his actual job.

No. I'm much better than running around with Ann Coulterish jibberish in my mind.

7. People were imprisoned for saying less about Wilson during the Great War. . .
and to an extent, criticism of Roosevelt was dealt with harshly during World War 2, as well.

But then, the question was directed to me, and my response would be decidedly different. So is that what you're after: popular response, as opposed to official policy?

8. No, but I've heard others do it.
Both when Carter was president and when Reagan was president.

I haven't heard anybody say it recently. Most people that have talked politics at me (yes, that's posed properly) have said * was a traitor.

People have the right to their opinions whether I agree with it or not.
