Bush gives new reason for Iraq war
Says US must prevent oil fields from falling into hands of terrorists
By Jennifer Loven, Associated Press | August 31, 2005

CORONADO, Calif. -- President Bush answered growing antiwar protests yesterday with a fresh reason for US troops to continue fighting in Iraq: protection of the country's vast oil fields, which he said would otherwise fall under the control of terrorist extremists.

This makes me so sick.

If this is a Dup, I'm sorry, I knew all along what it was all about, but I thought it notable that Bush actually told the truth at least once.

1. No, he doesn't.
He is constitutionally incapable of knowing for sure what the truth is.

6. Conversely...
He is constitutionally incapable of knowing for sure what the truth is.

He's truthfully incapable of knowing for sure what the Constitution is, too...

3. Day late and a dollar short for that
But I believe the main reason for the adventure is to transfer the treasury of the U.S. into the coffers of defense contractors. That's about the only thing that has been a resounding success thus far.

4. Ah, getting closer to his and Darth Cheney's real world view ..
most eloquently summed up by, "What's our oil doing under THEIR sand?"

I've always felt that Darth Cheney and the BFEE believe that ANYONE interfering with THEIR resources and related lifestyle deserves to be killed if they won't submit whatever contracts Cheney and the BFEE and Friends want to shove down the poor victim's throat. Apparently, the Darth and the BFEE don't believe that the citizens of a country are entitled to any significant level of profit from THEIR resources.

It IS sickening, isn't it?

9. Kind of silly if you asked me
We could have invaded the bottom 8 countries and took their oil.
It would be easier to recruit folks to go fight in Norway or Brazil rather than Iraq.

12. What is this, reason #4 or 5?
WMD? nope
Iraqis better after being freed from evil dictator Saddam? nope
Chance at democracy? nope.
Fight them "there" so they don't come "here"? nope (Madrid, London etc.)

At least Bu$hco is getting closer to truth - protecting Poppy's bizness - than the other bullshit reasons.
