and a great pal of swinging dick cheney and lil donny rumsfeld among other prominent neocons. pardoning Nixon was only the most public of his sins. don't forget his OK for Indonesia to invade East Timor which resulted in 23000 deaths and strife that continues there to this day. so i do not understand all this diefication of him going on rightnow. it was the same when Nixon passed. FCOL, he was a politician, not a fucking prophet. he was a wheeler /dealer in congress for years and that's he made it into the WH in the first place. so what that he was a decent man. an honorable man would have let the country have justice. Oh, but the country couldn't take being drug through mire and the ddirt a trial would have caused. bullshit! we deserve to see exactly what our elected representatives dwell in, in our name. how else do we clean it up? if the cesspool that the GOP called home had been exposed to the light of day then it's just barely possible that the american public might have paused a crucial moment before biting the bait that newt gingrich dangled on the end of his rod with his contract on america, not to mention the big lie of compassionate consewrvatism.
