Listen to Ian Black's essay regarding treating the wounded at the 28th Combat Support Hospital in the Green Zone. Troops, contractors, and Iraqi's are all operated on here. 1. Wow. That was really strong.
It made me wonder how my husband would handle that kind of situation, should he ever be drafted. All that suffering, so constant, so brutal.

because the blood is so deep". I strongly suspect that sort of person would speak with precision, rather than with dramatizing made-up phrases. And that is the most chilling thought I've had for several days. Thanks for posting that.
