WAR ON CHRISTMAS? So which concept can ANYONE defeat in a WAR?

Who the Hell declares these stupid wars? I know some reasonable Atheists and none of them seem to know either. While the pleasure of knowing and growing to understand any Moslems remains a future event, somehow they seem to lack motive or means to make the ridiculous declaration.

If these unknown idiots continue publicizing such absurdities, declaring war on terrorism will be the next fiasco. Oh yeah, that war on a concept already took around 3,000 of America’s finest, along with countless innocent Iraqis, while creating a terrorist hatching ground that will haunt our great-great-grandchildren.

Admittedly lacking both experience and desire to declare war on anything, stupid acts lurking in the past must be worth something. I can declare war on concepts as well as the next idiot, perhaps better!

How about a war on narrow-mindedness? A war on bigotry, certainly offers appeal. Declaring war on foolishness presents merit, except indulging in declarations of war on concepts places me in that category. Essentially, going to war against foolish concepts leads to suicide for any fool that makes such ludicrous declarations.

Why not extend the analogy? Declaring ALL war foolishly kills logic, as it reduces people to pathetic primal reflections of our species. When people become willing to take revenge or possessions, by killing others, they commit mental suicide. Anything, which kills the few characteristics that elevate us above mindless wild beasts, represents suicide for humanity, in a sense. Foolish leaders need to simply cut the chase and declare war on peace or better yet save working folks limitless grief and make a REAL commitment to everlasting peace, using only one gun, one bullet and one brain, for a change.

2. well, I have good news... I declared war on TV propaganda last month and I won!...
Unlike the current decent into insanity going on in the Mid-East, my war on propaganda spewing TV is saving me about $50 a month, instead of costing my kids trillions. I won my little war with a single phone call, which killed no one.

War can defeat peace.

For a while.

5. I've been complaining about this since the 80's...creating these pseudo wars has
done a great deal of damage to our social fabric, ironically in the name of mending it.

There is no such thing as winning a 'war' against an abstraction. Period. End of discussion.

The way to end it, I think, would not necessarily be to declare another 'war' but to simply not allow the phrase validity in a debate. That would effectively end it. Right now, however, we have politicians and talking heads doing all they can to maintain the concept in the collective conscience. Until they stop doing that, we've certainly got our work cut out for us, as it were.
