100,000's of layoff coming in housing industry
Anyone listen to NPR yesterday as they were talking about the housing industry and mostly how the current slump will mean 100,000's of workers will lose their jobs in the upcoming year.. Anyone from construction workers to realtors will are being effected now..

I small business owner claimed he had to let go two of his three workers because he could no longer support them. He claimed his profits were way down and nothing was moving per se..

Happy shopping, spending and wasting this christmas season..

1. Does that include all of the undocumented workers?
I doubt it. There's probably at least four times that many illegals who will be cast aside. What happens to them?

:scared:

5. they get kicked to the curb
My DH's boss already did that two weeks ago. After these same people worked for 5 YEARS for this company. Now he's acting surprized and angry that *their papers were questionable*. :sarcasm:

5 YEARS it took them to see that? Please. :eyes:

7. Real Estate Agents, Mortgage Brokers, Landscapers, Building Products Suppliers and Manufacturers
....anyone,who has gotten jobs as the boom expanded. The housing bubble supported millions of jobs. When that winds down...where do people go? We've just about run out of new Bubble opportunities. And particularly ones that employ lots of people. About all that's left is Hedge Fund Activity and Mergers and Aquisitions of Companies.

11. Just in time for the "surge"---how convenient.
In case we were wondering where all the extra troops were supposed to come from. The undocumented laid-off construction workers will probably be offered a fast track to citizenship if they sign up.
