Poppy Bush Says He's Ready To "Beat The Hell Out Of" Hillary Clinton If She Runs
Bush Senior ready to "beat the hell" out of Hillary Clinton

Fri Dec 15, 1:00 PM ET

TOKYO (AFP) - Former US president George H.W. Bush hailed his friendship in retirement with former rival Bill Clinton, but vowed to put up a fight if Hillary Clinton runs for the White House.

If Senator Clinton runs in 2008, "I'll be back on the other side and I will be trying to beat the hell out of her if possibly I can," he said with a grin. "So that's the American politics."

he needs to check his own family tree first.

BET has a great new documentary out that even those uninterested in government corruption may find of interest - American Gangster.

Of course, I do understand that coincidence theories abound - I just am not a coincidence theorist.

And Robert Parry is a journalist of sterling integrity who has never targeted the Clintons maliciously as many mainstream reporters do, but does believe in informing his readers with the facts.

I also don't play when it comes to FACTS and the historic record that exists. Most anti-corruption, open government Democrats have that in common.

23. Hope you don't mind if I butt in here... I'll answer your question with a qualified "yes".
I don't think the Clintons are "pawns" so much as junior partners in the shadow government. I don't really know chess, but I'm thinking that makes them something like "castles" or "bishops".

No matter what, the Clintons are members in good standing of the global power class, and that is the constituency they serve.

37. You Know It Pains Me When We Disagree, My Friend
Edited on Fri Dec-15-06 09:41 PM by The Magistrate
But we do in this instance.

We could possibly keep each other company for a while on this line: there is certainly a ruling class, and President and Senator Clinton are part of it. The factional divisions within this class, however, do run very deep, and which faction people belong to matters. Being members by dint of striving to co-option, rather than birth, these two Democrats are part of a faction that recognizes the self interest of the rulers is best served in the long run by the welfare of the people at large, rather than by some among the rulers grabbing the most they possibly can in a devil take the hind-most Social Darwinist jungle. This difference is a critical one to the lives of millions in our country, and around the world. So long as conditions that are far from conducive to revolution persist, the only course open to the left that can have practical effect, at least in my view, is to side with the faction that will do the least harm, and might even do some good, if wielding government power. We must be clear that nothing short of revolution is going to alter the basic economic and political structures of our society, and that revolution is always a bloody, and generally a futile, endeavor. The oldest split within the left is between those who feel that revolution must always be the foremost goal, and that where revolutionary conditions do not exist the business of the left is to create them, and those who feel that improving the lot of the people must always be the foremost goal, and whatever tool is most readily to hand should be used to secure this, and that in conditions of liberal democracy, the best tool ready to hand is exploitation and eventual co-option of the existing political structure.

44. We don't disagree so much at the heart of things, friend.
Our only difference here, it seems to me, is that I feel less certainty about which faction the Clintons belong to.

Otherwise, most of what you have to say I have said myself at one time or another.

Ironically, I almost added another paragraph to my post above about the fact that the Democrats, by in large, represent that part of the Ruling Class which sees its interests better served by serving some of the interests of the masses. It's something I've posted often over the years -- and, for that matter, something I learned at my father's knee many decades ago.

I'm not a revolutionary leftist, as far as I know. All I've ever endeavored to do is just wake people up as best I can. I just want people to stretch their minds and their perceptions. I figure that's the best way to shift the paradigm. I think that's more evolution than revolution.

The biggest chains that need to be thrown off are our mental chains. First we have to recognize that the chains exist, and then find out how it is we came to be enchained. The rest proceeds organically from there, hopefully.

Best wishes,
sw

I know there are distinctions between DLC Dems and mainstream Republicans on certain issues (largely social issues and manufactured wedge issues), but on the subjects I most care about, yes- there's not a dime's worth of difference between Bill or Hillary Clinton and Bush Sr.

43. My first thought when I read
what pappy had to say about hil was.."he's egging the corporatemedia on for a good ol' political fight between the clintons and the bushits AGAIN.

If hil is in the primaries I hope she has to address this "covering up". I can only imagine what their plans are for keeping the American people from the intimate knowledge of bushdom but I hope the American people have other plans for whom their president shall be.

I'm not at all surprised at Bush I making such a comment. I think he is truly senile. Remember his JEB crying fit recently?
I don't think the Bush family is very helpful to the Republican party anymore, except for financially.
They are all a bunch of lunatics , & FINALLY, just MAYBE, the American public will realize it!
I am not a big fan of Hillary for Prez because I don't think the public is ready for her, but for him to make such a statement is ludicrous, but typical of Repub thinking on women as punching bags for men.

14. I've wondered how conservative women feel
about how right wing men talk about women. Do right wing women not have a sense of pride? Right wing radio refers to Hillary as "Hitlery". And Nancy Pelosi is Bela Lugosi. That's the level of discourse.
Women are derided and marginalized.
The intense hatred of Hillary, a moderate Dem., is very telling. Out of all the targets in this country, Hillary Clinton is the right's AntiChrist. Why? What, precisely, has this women done that is so amazingly heinous to warrant the daily barrage against her from all the hate media?
And a former president speaks of "beating the hell out of" a former First Lady.
What a classy family the Bushes are.

and, if i were hillary i would seriously believe what he is saying. i wonder how much he paid the tech who let all those electric lights fall on bill and hillary during a 60 minutes CBS interview back in 1992 when they were talking about jennifer flowers. the footage wasn't shown in the program, it was shown later, and the voice narrating the footage said that bill and hillary were only saved by the quick thinking action of someone in that studio who saw the lights start to fall and pull them both out from under those lights and out from that sofa they were sitting on just in time before the lights crashed on the sofa.

poppy bush means business when he says he will beat the hell out of hillary.

what does he have against women? what does he have against the clintons? what does he have against honest democracy other than his knowledge that he and his boys don't stand a chance if they were to play fair and by the rules.

For generations to come, the very name will spoken with more disgust, more derision than "Nixon," "McCarthy," or any of the other creeps and crooks who've made it into the history books.

They've set a new low, by just about every possible measure. They know it. And they know that WE know it.

That's why they're coming unglued before our very eyes. Not a pretty sight, but the more desperate and bitter they get, the more they assure the whole world will remember what repugnant little people they were.
