It's a great big mound of dirt covering decades of New York City's garbage, various victims of mob hits and barrels of oozing illegally dumped waste.

No, the back side of the moon is much better. Done large enough, not only would it inspire humans returning from exploring the vastness of Space, but it could also be seen as a request for Earth's entry into the Galactic Federation.

Better yet--part of the remains of the World Trade Center are I believe still stored just a short distance down the West Shore Expressway--it could be a theme.

Imagine, the Commander in Chief at the moment of the attack, staring blankly off into the distance at the oil refineries across the Kill Van Kull in New Jersey, a copy of "My Pet Goat" in his hands. while vast flocks of seagulls crack clamshells and split garbage bags on Bush's smirking visage and thousands of commuters stuck in the inevitable traffic jams flash the Universal American Salute at the statue as they creep past.

It's art.

Besides, the dark side of the moon would be cool, sure. But Fresh Kills would be a whole hell of a lot cheaper and do we really want to waste large sums of taxpayer's money commemorating this bum.

Two memorials:

Your Fresh Kills one and mine on the far-side of the Moon. If we have two, then maybe Halliburton will give us a package deal. Worth a shot I'd say.

As far as spending vast sums of money:

No expense should be spared in order to commemorate our dear and much beloved leader. After all, it's only money and we can keep going as long as China is willing to buy our Bonds. Hell, I'm willing to bet that they'd throw in on it if we give them space to put a carving of a dis-assembled P3 Orion as a tribute to the first of his many foreign policy successes.

13. There we might have a problem.

We got rid of all our heavy throw weight launch vehicles back in the 70's We might have to send him in sections to be re-assembled later. Normally this wouldn't be a really big hassle, but on the moon it might be hard to get all the bolts and electrical connections to line up right. But on the good side, being a cyborg and all, Cheney wouldn't need any big oxygen bottles to lug around.
