Senator Tim Johnson, born with a tangle of vessels in his brain.
I just heard this on MSNBC that Tim Johnson had this condition since birth and he nor his family ever saw this. Apparently the tangle of vessels came to a point where the bleeding began and caused this problem. Aparently surgeons have worked on this and we will see what happens

I hope that Senator Johnson recovers very soon. Realisticly it will take weeks to recover.

:tinfoilhat: :silly:

That evil bastard is screwing with our unborn. Somehow he knew that Johnson would become an important cog in a Democratic majority so he caused the formation of the AVM in the womb. Hypocritical prick doesn't mind toying with preborn genetics but he's gotta save them stem cells.

Damn that Rover is some smart evil genius, he managed to do it even though he was born 2 or 3 years after Johnson.

On edit, corrected age of Rover. That asshat was born on Christmas day.

4. I hate to say I saw this on a TV show - but I have
If you've ever seen the show "Six Feet Under", the lead was diagnosed with AVM and he was told the same thing - that he has had it pretty much all of his life. He wouldn't even had known he had it until he was in a car accident and had to have a standard head scan. He did have the surgery for AVM and lived for several years but ultimately died in the final season. But since this was a show about a funeral home and how the dead came back to talk to those who were alive, it was really more of a plot driven death not standard life expectancy of someone with AVM

7. Of Course....
He eventually had a relapse and actually died a couple of years later.

Not the happiest of examples.

I hope he has a good recovery. It must be hard for the family.

Btw, some people must feel pretty stupid, now ;).
I also hope that these idiotic threads that were a shame for DU stop now.

11. Best wishes for him... however, just think
there may be others like him who are not at the center of the best medical care in the world and who probably simply die.
