2. So you mean the "thank yous" for the fili 25 and/or the "no more cash
for you" (ha!)msgs for the "vichy 19"? or something else? Or what about: Please let the Bush administration know you Oppose the shut-down of First Amendment Rights by the outrageous detention of Cindy Sheehan for simply wearing a t-shirt with a number representing dead American soldiers....?

4. Oh, sorry, I didn't see the original post. Must be frustrating trying
to organize around this NOW when everyone is so burned out from Fili -or - Bust -a -thon. I'm sure there'll be the brigade of folks that'll feel (oh...I GAVE already, 2 days of faxing and calling --- and we didn't win...so I'm just gonna chill now...I'm too depressed....) I'll make some calls before I crash. Thanks. Freedom is a Constant Struggle.

5. What's frustrating is that DOING something about the budget cuts,
... doing something about poverty, doesn't seem to matter to DU on the whole.

I've been posting on this most recently since National Call-in week started on the 23rd, and for months previously.

Thanks for calling.

6. Thank YOU. DU is filled with lots of middle class adventurers who
haven't necessarily got a clue about notions of class struggle. Then there are some Fabulous folks here who not only Know but care and are quite committed. (there's something about this medium that can seduce people into thinking that internet fetishism can be a substitute for concrete political action and organizing)

8. I agree... some w/no clue, some quite committed & caring.
Internet activism is not a substitute, but can be an effective addition to concrete political action and organizing... if the audience is receptive.

9. Try Simmons, Sweeney, & Goode
Rep. Rob Simmons (R-Conn.), perennially one of the GOP’s most vulnerable incumbents, has declared he will switch his vote to no. Rep. John Sweeney (R-N.Y.) is wavering. Rep. Virgil Goode (R-Va.), another supporter of the cuts in December, is not commenting on his upcoming vote, according to a spokesman.

10. Okay, I'm crashing now. I called Harman, Sweeney, Goode and NONE of
them had their machines on. The only one I was able to leave a message for was Simmons of Ct.

Good luck (for all of us) on this one, Blue Sapphire.
And thanks for being a positive light/conscience for DU'ers.
