2. Bush's legacy: Bush as legacy.
History will not be kind. Trudeau nails it.

10. No, I don't think history will be kind. Hell, it's already pushing that way
and his term isn't even finished.

How often have we heard, lately, that he's expected to go down as one of the top five US presidents in history?

8. How about a subplot for good history classes
lets be honest how many people KNOW about Harding?

Well bush will be in the same boat.

On the bright side, legacy, what legacy?

18. I did when I was still in high school. It went like this:
Nixon thought that he'd be great
Until he heard of Watergate.
Now his place in history's home
Is underneath the Teapot Dome.

13. This touches upon the primary reason for impeachment...
...to set a good example for future generations, letting them know that this generation did not tolerate an immoral presidency, so they never should.

Failure of the Dems to impeach Reagan for Iran-Contra likely allayed fears of those in the current presidential administration that they would ever be held accountable for their brazen contemptuous disregard of the Constitution.

22. We have a winner! Welcome to DU!
Yet another excellent argument for IMPEACHMENT. IMPEACHMENT stopped being meaningful when it was used in a punitive, petty little vendetta for an illicit blow job. It has to mean something again. It has to be rehabilitated. Can anyone think of a more worthy, more logical, more historically lofty reason to IMPEACH than those before the American people now?

23. What is so terribly frightening is that W has two more whole years!
He hardly blinked before he tossed the Iraq suggestions in the waste basket. I do not trust Baker but W just systematically dismissed a report of 9 months investigation within a few hours. I abhor wasting time on impeachment, but this fruitcake has to be put in a straitjacket somewhere. His arrogance and stupidity know no bounds.
