Deluded Wingnut: "Pathetic, spinless worms, the lot of you who think we're losing."
A comment to a post on Wizbang Blog arguing that "total victory" is the "only acceptable outcome" in Iraq.

http://wizbangblog.com/2006/12/06/our-brave-soldiers-did-not-die-just-to-mitigate-defeat.php#414005

Unbelievable. We have the equivalent of a 28 point lead in the 4th quarter with 10 minutes to go. Our opponent makes a few first downs and all the idiot armchair quarterbacks come out of the woodwork screaming that we're "losing"; and we ought to just end the game now.

Pathetic, spinless worms, the lot of you who think we're losing. A few guerrila tactics and you're ready to throw in the towel. Absolutely pathetic.

2. Anyone who compares war to a sport needs to f***ing enlist
A bloodied nose in a football game doesn't really compare to brains spattered on walls.

14. Anyone who compares war to football
Edited on Wed Dec-06-06 01:54 PM by maxrandb
has participated in neither.

Something tells me this joker would need a case of Depends to spend one day in Iraq, and would shrivel up and die if Ronnie Lott clocked him one time as he came across the middle.

Fucking losers. Most of these pricks would turn tail and run in a bar fight, let alone a war.

16. Sick shit, is it not?
Who needs a coliseum to keep these masses entertained? They've got plasma TVs and the internet.

All the reality is safely behind the screen and they get to claim that they watched it all unfold.

The cheerleader mentality is also frightening...

3. We lost 10 more today
We can win every battle but we can never win the war.

Pathetic, spinless worms :puke:
A good friend's son is headed over there
as a Hummer driver January. And for what?

5. I need to ask this coital mistake . . . WHAT IS "total victory"?
Seriously. What constitutes "victory"? "Keeuck thar ass and tayke thar gas!"?? The whole middle east being a sea of glass and radiation? More dead soldiers? More dead children? More monuments in DC with names on them?

Here's a hint, Tommy Blogical. Our goal isn't to "win" anything. But keep believing life is one big football game.

8. What the heck is victory?
Tell us what it is and then we can discuss whether it's possible. But no. Of course they only use the word in a broad patriotic "We're Number 1" manner. How dare you doubt that America can do anything! You must be a Commie...no wait... wrong century... you must be a terrorist!

10. Some people really do see it as a game that is to be won at
all costs. Losing is simply unspeakable.

11. Didn't That Idiot Hear His Hero George Declare "Mission Accomplished"?
We already have victory. Everything else is nation-building and police action, and conservatives (at least traditional ones) hate that sort of thing. This buffoon thinks he's a conservative, but he doesn't know whether he's coming or going.

13. "A few guerrila tactics" my posterior. What is it about the concept of "civil war" he doesn't get?
Colin Powell gets it. Most of the career military brass gets it.

No WMDs, no democracy, just **chaos**. From a far-right-wing "inside" perspective, Halliburton, Blackwater et al made their obscene profits from the chaos.

Inasmuch as the U.S. is now babysitting a full-blown civil war, and its continued presence only throws gasoline on the raging fire, it's high time to declare that the Iraqis are in charge of their own destiny, and get the hell out.

15. I think he meant "spineless", but "spinless" fits perfectly.
If you don't add a lotta "spin", you can't see how great things are going.
