Cheney's Straight Daughter

This morning's news that the Vice President's younger daughter is pregnant brought brief mention of his other daughter in an article displayed during a Washington Journal broadcast earlier today.

I didn't know Cheney had a second daughter and was much surprised to hear she was an official at the Department of State. I got curious.

Between Google and Wikopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Cheney I was knocked off my feet.

I despise nepotism but as bad as that is one has to wonder how Condi, as Secretary of State, could allow a direct line from the inner workings to the Vice President's Office and its connections to Rumsfeld. I followed a couple of the links to read more about this relatively young lady's career, its just a disgrace how her name has got her jobs so high.

1. I was aware of the older daughter

but was surprised to learn that she ALSO has a high-level appointment at the State Department.

I was thinking that Mary had an appointment also, but maybe that was limited to her 'advisor' role in the campaign. :shrug: I'd really like to know if she was paid strictly from campaign funds or by taxpayers for her work, too! It's bad enough that my taxes are providing a lifetime check to Bush and Cheney.
