"DU is soooooo '04."
So says Tom Watson.

He posted this last night not at his own blog but at another site. See link below.

I dunno - DU is soooooo 04. FDL felt, for a brief shining moment, like 06. Then they pointed the gun at their own head.

I've never heard of this guy until a boring dust up between him and FireDogLake concerning an article about Dino Ellen Tauscher.

Mr. Watson leave DU out of your play to make a name for yourself and I find your comment about DU offensive.

The lie is like the New Orleans' levy system. It sounds good until you test it out, and all hell breaks loose.

3. anonymous no more
The google trend (offline at the moment), shows a spike in 2004, interestingly.

Methinks, as DU became more and more a 'known' voice of the 'same old progressive caucus',
some folks think they can disregard it like they always have.... but progressive politics
is not going away.

4. Nice
DU and Firedoglake, at any rate, are not comparable. I do think Firedoglake clearly believes it's own press, and I don't have as much respect for them as I once did, but you can't compare a community of thousands to a blog, even one with multiple posters.

5. Who's Ned Flanders?
I may be wrong, but that doesn't sound too complimentary.

6. From The Simpsons
Ned Flanders is the Simpsons' sometimes-sickeningly cheerful next-door neighbor.
