2. I wonder where they get this? Gore himself was just interviewed
and said he isn't going to run in 2008.

13. He never said that
He said he has no plans. Which is what he always says. But he hasn't yet ruled it out.

Having "no plans" is not at all the same as "No, I won't run". For starters, Gore always comes back with "I haven't ruled it out yet".

5. Bottom line: CNN's inside sources say there is a very good chance
Gore will run. Although before Wolf said this he stated that Gore has said he has no plans to run, but hasn't reached the point where he would rule it out altogether.

Stay tuned.

8. People close to Gore said it is MORE likely that Gore will throw his hat in the ring.
Not just any source, but people close to Gore said that right now the chances that Gore will throw his hat in the ring is more likely now.

I about fainted.

12. Transcript, get your transcript here:
From intro:

And two Democrats are publicly venting their anger at President Bush. Senator-Elect Jim Webb of Virginia has a very personal bone to pick with Mr. Bush over Iraq. And Al Gore just may be setting the stage for a presidential campaign comeback.

I'm Wolf Blitzer.

You're in THE SITUATION ROOM.

BLITZER: Let's talk a little real, hard politics. You guys (Begala and Mike Murphy) are good at that, the best in the business.

Al Gore, you remember him, the former vice president of the United States, has a new interview in "GQ" magazine. Among other thing, he says this. He says: "This administration has been, by far, the most incompetent, inept, and with more moral cowardice and obsequiousness to their wealthy contributors, and obliviousness to the public interest of any administration in modern history, and probably in the entire history of the country."

This comes as, you know, people close to Al Gore are suggesting to me, you know what? He is seriously thinking of running again. I don't know if he will or he won't.

But what do you think? It sounds like he's setting the stage for it.

14. A bit more from the Transcript and what Wolfie says:
CHERNOFF: Gore's spokesperson told CNN, the former vice president had made it clear that he has no intention of running, and that his focus in on global warming, not the presidency.

But a key player in Democratic presidential politics points out that Al Gore can actually do far better right now in gaining popularity by staying away from politics, and really focusing on being a movie star -- Wolf.

BLITZER: Allan, thanks very much.

17. I think he is being very smart about it.
He doesn't have to get in the fray right now. Get the tire kickers out of the way, and then get down to the serious candidates. It's not like the country doesn't already know that Gore has impeccable credentials.
