Joe Watkins, Rethug Shill from Philly on MSNBC
Edited on Sun Nov-26-06 08:58 AM by PCIntern
just said, among other idiocies, that Bush II will be positively remembered for likability and policies. Every time I turn the set on, this guy is there - he's a gentlemanly well-spoken black guy who stays right on message and Rethug talking points of the day.

However, the Dem they have on is not only missing a whole bunch of teeth, his grammar is just awful. I mean REALLY bad. Why oh why are we destined to have some of the worst messengers around? Yes, I know that it's the media outlets themselves which select these guys, but oh man, we really need to step up to the plate.

1. I watched the last few minutes of it
and I thought the Dem did a fine job of slapping the GOP shill down real hard. I saw a different debate than what you did I guess, and I never noticed "missing teeth" and I heard NOTHING in the way of bad grammar.

2. Well, you didn't listen to the beginning,
and sometimes, the subtleties of misused English are not noticed when one is in agreement with the individual speaking. Words, like 'drug' instead of 'dragged' and the like are hard to take.

That being said, what you have to do to a guy like Watkins is take him on on his fundamentals. Watkins stated that Reagan was responsible for bringing down the Soviet Empire...what Watkins should have said was that involvement in Afghanistan contributed mightily to the fall and that we should have learned a lesson from this and we are now involved in a similar situation, causing many problems both internally and externally. Instead, he granted Watkins the correctness of his statements and then, weakly in my opinion, said that Reagan presided over many problematic situations but neglected to elaborate; Iran-Contra, and the like.

4. Do you mean Flavia
my coffee-maker at work?

Or Flavia like, "The city of Brotherly Love, Flavia(Fluffia)"?
