Drug Industry Is on Defensive as Power Shifts. Want to continue SCREWING Americans...
Check this out: ~snip~

WASHINGTON, Nov. 23 — Alarmed at the prospect of Democratic control of Congress, top executives from two dozen drug companies met here last week to assess what appears to them to be a harsh new political climate, and to draft a battle plan. Hoping to prevent Congress from letting the government negotiate lower drug prices for millions of older Americans on Medicare, the pharmaceutical companies have been recruiting Democratic lobbyists, lining up allies in the Bush administration and Congress, and renewing ties with organizations of patients who depend on brand-name drugs.

1. Pelosi will adress this in the first 100 hours
beware to anyone in congress who votes against it, or if bushco vetos it, this BETTER BE USED AGAINST THEM in 2008, if it doesn't pass

We will know very shortly if what the Democrats said was all talk or just another dashille congress

9. Please note that one of the lobbyist the drug industry hired was one
of Pelosi's former staffers. I'm really upset about this whole courting of Democratic Party lobbyists by the industry, and I'm going to be watching this. We will not become the other corrupt party.

2. this makes me so angry
I thought the drug companies were in business to HELP people!!

I was especially cheered by the mention that the new congress will look at the stupid TV ads and campaigns to get MDs to prescribe more drugs. Those annoying things startred up under Reagan and they are costing us BILLIONS (and incidentally killing people ie Vioxx)

4. Where the heck did you get that delusion?
I thought the drug companies were in business to HELP people!!

I don't know of a single drug company that doesn't work for a profit, the higher the better. Pharmaceutical companies have never, ever been in the business of helping people.

5. Help people! Help people?
The drug companies must be run by the most corrupt bunch of psychopaths on the face of this earth. Have you ever seen the doicumentary THE CORPORATION? Talk about "evil-doers". Their avarice and their deceit knows no bounds.

3. Time for these pigs to be put into line.
They have gotten rich at the expense of the ill, dying and suffering for too long. Reprehensible doesn't even begin to cover it.

6. Oh, look, they're trying to whore their way back into the Democratic Party
Watch their lobbyists flash their rolls of dollars at Democratic congressmen looking for sources of funding for their next campaign. The question is how many of them will be lured by the money.

7. The drug companies are drafting a "battle plan". I think that makes
them terrorist organizations, fighting against the US government.

12. How many Dems receive lobbyist payments from Pharmco?
Seriously.

And how many are right now being courted by the Drug cartel?

I doubt we have much "change" to worry about...
