Lawrence O'Donnell on Countdown talked about Rangel's draft proposal.
Pointed out that most of those who come on teevee talking about the war have avoided serving in the wars of their generation that came their way. Said that this is a moral debate that needs to talke place.

I agree.

3. Yeah, that was intense.
I couldn't even hear what Keith talked about after that, I was so feeling that interview.

I'm opposed to a draft
If the proposal of a draft wakes up the masses, then I say talk about. Rangle has begun the debate and that's a good thing.

5. Absolutely!
Let's hear the arguments on boths sides of the issue. I think that therin lies the true character of our nation - at this time. This is an absolutely no bullshit debate.

I would say - every single time this nation goes to war - the draft starts automatically for men and women. Period. No exceptions.

7. I'm sure Charlie Rangel knows it stands no chance of passing...
But he is, indeed, introducing it to make a very important point...about the chickenhawks who got us into this war, and how little concern they have for those who are fighting it.

Rest easy, undergrads. You won't have to go unless you're active duty, reserve or Guard. But perhaps this will make us think--and better appreciate the sacrifices of those who are.

B-)

8. When he introduced a similar bill a couple of years ago, he
voted against it, because he doesn't really want a draft -- he want a dialogue, not only in Congress, but in the country, and I am with him on this.
