I spoke to a young woman today who has been married for six months.
Her husband is in the military. She started dating him 3 years ago. In the past 3 years he has been to Iraq twice and to Afghanistan once. He's 22 years old. His current tour ends in six months and she swears she will not let him sign on again. Let's send vibes their way that this ends well for them and they have a chance for the long married years she envisions.

1. Thats a worthy cause
I waited until I was 42 before I married and I can say without a doubt these last 16 years have been my best by far.
So I will gladly send them good vibes.

2. I hope he's able to find a job when he gets out.
And it all works out for them. I'm hearing sad stories about kids having to re-up because they get out to NO jobs.

5. I hope he makes it home safely
I also hope he makes it home uninjured, he finds a job, he does not suffer from PTSD, and they have a long and happy marriage.

If I'd met that young woman, it would have been all I could do not to throw my arms around her. I'm sick inside thinking about how many loved ones and families will have an empty chair at the Thanksgiving table this year because the one they love will never be coming back. It's wrong, and it must stop before one more family has to endure this kind of pain.

6. His "tour" may end in a few months, but his "obligation" to the US military
will last for years.. he can be recalled again and again
