Why do many of the healthcare corporations make their homes in TN?
I work for one of those corporations.
When HCA/Columbia/HCA stole all of the money from Medicare, there was a mandate that they sell off many of their holdings, you saw another company rise out of the dust--Tenet.
Also based in TN.
The whisper in the industry was that Tenet was basically an offshoot of Columbia (who changed their name back to HCA to confuse people)with a shadow board of directors.
I am curious because it seems very strange that Tenet, HCA, and many of the other healthcare corporations seem to nest there. It is almost incestuous.
Is there a reason that Tennessee is more favorable than other places?
